I decided that if I am going to ever get back into the world I have to start socializing with more people than Phyllis. Not that I don't love socializing with Phyllis; cause I do, but Phyllis is my girlfriend and once in a while I need the companionship of the male kind.

As I said I am not really interested in a permenant relationship because I really do not have the time to devote to that. But, I do enjoy having a man around once in awhile to go to dinner with, dancing with or just to hang out with. I realized that the men are not exactly knocking on my door and the ones that do I scare away. I also realized that the only males in my house are a neutered dog, a blind guinea pig, a gerbil and two hamsters. None of which are viable dating material. Well Tau is but it requires that I take a poop bag when we go out and that is not romatic at all.

So I have started the process of going out on my own or taking a friend to various functions around town where I can meet, mingle and socialize with people I don't know. My astrologer says that I prefer to hang out with a small group of close friends versus a large party. This is true to a point, I do prefer smaller groups because it is more intimate and you can be more engaging. Large groups are okay, but I feel like I never get to talk to everyone I want to. So we are going to mix it up and do both.

My first foray into the social world is a formal affair - tuxes required. The Hispano Chamber of Commerce is having their annual La Noche Encantada event this evening and I have got 2 tickets to attend. It is a dinner, dance and concert by Gregg Rolie who is the original singer for Santana. I am not really interested in the concert but I am interested in the dinner and dancing. Of course when you attend one of these events you do need a date so I am taking my friend Harold along. Who as of this morning was complaining about having to wear a tux but I know he was really looking forward to going.

My next foray is a party next Saturday at a friends house. We are celebrating a birthday and his new kitchen remodel. Typically I don't do parties, they can be tedious and time consuming but again, I need to find new people to play with so I have to reevaluate my likes and dislikes.

I will of course give everyone an update on how the formal shindig was. Wish me luck.
Wouldn’t it be fun and productive if every morning when we woke up there was a nice little note by our beds that explains what the hell our dreams mean. I have some dreams that I know I am suppose to be getting something from but, for the life of me I just seem to get confused. There are some dreams that are just obvious and I really don’t have to think about what they mean.

A few nights ago I had a dream that revolved around the ocean. The first part of the dream I had a vision that Galveston had too many sharks along the coast and I needed to let my nephew, Joseph know that he should not go surfing that day. He could swim but not surf since it confuses the sharks. Two things struck me as odd with this dream: 1) who surfs in Galveston? and 2) My nephew is 9 he is not going to Galveston alone to swim or surf. But, either way I needed to tell him.

I did stop to take notice of a few things while I was having this dream, the water was very calm with no waves or ripples. The sharks were non aggressive and just swimming along their merry way. These are good things since the dream would have a different meaning if there was rough water or violent animals.

The second dream of the night also revolved around the ocean. This time I was in a huge mansion in L.A. it was not one of the California mansions that is all glass and steel but an English manor with an extensive garden that opened up to the beach. Once again the water was calm. In this dream the garden had a goldfish pond and we took the fish out of it and put them in a bucket. I realized one of the goldfish had jumped out of the bucket and I was frantically looking for it. I picked up the bucket and it was not on the green checked towel underneath (am detailed oriented or what?), it was not on the sidewalk and then I saw it. Tau had the fish in his mouth. I told him to drop the fish and he did and but the fish was already dead. Tau quickly got the fish again but I was able to get it from him.

My mission now was to take the fish to the ocean and return it to Mother Earth. As I walked through the garden I was saying my ritual that I do when an animal crosses over. Basically, it is just asking that the Goddess accept the animal into Summerland and give it a wonderful life on the other side. I held the little fish with the bite out of his fishy body in my hands as I walked to the ocean.I never made it to the ocean because I have the attention span of a toddler lately and apparently I was lead astray by a shiny tour bus. In fact I don’t know what happened to the dead fish I did not see it again. When I woke up I just laughed because I could still see the look on Tau’s face as he held this fish in him mouth. He looked disgusted to say the least and slightly pissed that I would put him in this dream of mine.

Last night I had a dream once again revolving around the ocean but with dolphins. I was taking Josh and my sister out to see if we could see any dolphins in the bay and they were everywhere. Now anyone who was raised around the ocean knows that you are lucky if you see one or two dolphins but not a ton of them. But they were everywhere.

So what does all this tell me? What am I suppose to learn from dreaming about the ocean and it's inhabitants? Here is the interpretation of my dreams.

Dreaming about the ocean or sea represents your unconscious and your transition between your unconscious and conscious. It also often represents your emotions. This makes sense to me since I have been working for some time on understand my subconscious mind and knowing all that there is to know. It also makes sense that the ocean represents emotions. For me when I get stress or burnt out I go back to the ocean. Just walking along the shore or sitting and resting or even driving along it is like having a 3 hour massage. It is very rejuvenating and wonderful for me. It also goes with the fact that I am a very emotional person. I feel things other don't feel or don't want to feel.

Dreaming about a goldfish signifies, wealth, success and pleasant adventures. It also represents important emotional matter or valuable insight. I am not sure if this is still true when your dog eats the goldfish. Would that negate the good or bring more wealth and success? Who knows on that.

The Dolphins symbolize spiritual guidance, your intellect, mental attributes and emotional trust.

Utilize your mind to its capacity and you will move upward in life. Alternatively, it suggests that a line of communication has been established between the conscious and unconscious aspects of yourself. Dolphins represent your willingness and ability to explore and navigate through your emotions.

It is interesting that all these revolve around my subconscious mind. But it does make sense as I delve more into my subconscious and try to uncover what is there and learn how to mesh the conscious and the subconscious mind.

I wonder what dreams are next?
As I said before, when I was in Sonora Texas the guides told me "You know what you need to do." Without even thinking about it I did know what I needed to do and it involved the cemetery. Now before you think I did something crazy like dig up a grave I didn't. What I needed to do was bury my relationship and issues with #3 once and for all. But, why in a cemetery?

For me cemeteries have played a part in every aspect of my life even before I was born. My grandfather was the caretaker for a cemetery in West Virginia. My mother grew up in a house on a hill that overlooked that cemetery. When I was a kid I loved to play among the tombstones and mausoleums in any cemetery I could find. As I got older when I needed peace and quiet I would head out to the cemetery to sit and study or read. As an adult, I stopped at every cemetery I come across which meant that poor Joshua was raised traipsing through cemeteries all over the place.

When #2 and I got together I was 20 years old and a single mother. I was so naive and unprepared for a grown up relationship. After we had been together for a few years I had a visit from his mother. She died in 1968, but she came to tell me that she had picked me out for her son because I was very much like her. How I don't know. But she thought I was the perfect choice for her son. Unfortunately she either did not know or did not want to know that he was a freaking lunatic. So when we were still married but I needed to break the connection for my own sanity I went to his mothers grave and told her "That's it. I'm done. I want out." After that I learned to live on my own with Joshua, we were no longer a couple (we really never were) but I was back to being a single mother, I was just legally married. I stopped doing everything I used to do and starting living as if he was not there. It was not a great thing to do, but it was what I needed to do.

So when I was presented with the Sonora Cemetery I knew I had to do the same thing. I went in and found a nice spot that did not have anyone already there and sat down. I mediated on what I wanted to do. I started off by thanking the Goddess for bringing him into my life because there were benefits from having him there. I thanked her for the years that were good, I thanked her for the lessons I learned and I thanked her for the wisdom and growth I received from this relationship. I explained that at this point anything left was toxic and in time would do nothing good for me. I asked permission to return it to Mother Earth.

Mind you this is done on the psychic level, I am not actually digging a hole in the cemetery. But visually I dig a grave and bury what is left of #3 in that cemetery, in the city where I fell in love with him. I filled the grave up, patted the top and got up. As I was stood there ending my ritual I felt all my guides around, I felt the spirits that reside in the cemetery or came to see what was going on, I felt the Goddess there warm and kind smiling at me in approval for finally understanding what had to be done and for doing what I had to do. It was peaceful and it was beautiful. It was a funeral for something that probably should never have started but did and ended the only way it could have.

As I left I knew I had "walked through the living room" I had faced what was a scary bad thing for me and I knew that in the future I could take whatever path I wanted to and I would no longer be hounded by memories, feelings or thoughts. It was done and over with and my life is still my own.

So next time I go to Texas I am not only driving through San Antonio but I think I will spend the night there and remember why I love that city.
Monday, January 19, 2009 was my official birthday. However, since I celebrated it with Joseph and my parents the day before I kept forgetting. All day I got calls from friends wishing me a Happy Birthday and every time I got confused thinking my birthday was over. Until I realized what day it was. Apparently this happens when you get older...or so I'm told.

I started out at 6:00 a.m. to head home. Not surprising Tau immediately jumped in the car and was ready to go. Kali took one look at the car and headed back inside. The piggies did not give a shit and just wanted to be left alone. I was surprised at the amount of traffic on the freeway at 6 in the morning and a bank holiday. But we made good time getting out of town.

On my way west I got to thinking about Tau and his incident the night before. As much as I hated to do it, I made him walk through my parents living room so that he would not harbor fears in the future. This is a must with the Dog Whisperer, if you do not immediately counter the bad incident with a positive incident they will be afraid in the future. This was exactly what I had been doing, I was afraid to go places that before #3 I loved such as; San Antonio because I now hard bad feelings to associate with it. I had to take the advice of the Dog Whisperer and squash those bad feelings once and for all. So I decided to drive through San Antonio instead of around it. But, by the time I got there I did not want to get stuck in their morning rush hour so I did my usual trip around it.

As we drove West we stopped at the usual places for walks and pee breaks, but something happened that I was totally unprepared for. As I was driving west I had to pee so bad that I just got off and the next exit and went into a convenience store. When I got out and got back into the car and started to head out again I realized I had stopped in Sonora, Texas. I never stop here for two reasons 1) there is nothing there and 2) it is where #3 and I met for the first time around my birthday in 2000. We spent the weekend there so there were lots of memories around that town. As I was getting on the freeway I was facing their cemetery and the guides gently said "You know what you need to do." I will explain in another post what I had to do because it is a bit detailed.

I did what I needed to do and headed out again. But, I was getting bored with the same old drive so once again, I got out my trusty map and changed my course. I did not want to get too far off the beaten track because I was really ready to get home. So I took a different road out of Fort Stockton and went through some really nice little towns like Kermit and Monohans. I did have to cross over to hit 285 so head north. I don't know what road I took but it was great, it was a two lane country road with no one else on it. It curved and twisted and was a great drive. I discovered that south of Carlsbad is New Mexico Salt and Minerals which has a solar saltworks. Whatever that is. But I was really cool to see the big lake. I would not have known this if I did not take a different way home.

So the rest of the trip was pretty much the same as it always is. I got home about 8:30 that night. All was well in the Cribbs casa, the dogs were thrilled to be home, the piggies were thrilled to be back on their table and the hamster did not seem to know anything happened, except for Sasha and she had a bit of abandonment issues with me not being there everyday. However, she is fine now and back to her usual untrusting yet cute self.
Don't forget that my phone number has changed. Please refer to the email that was sent to everyone on Tuesday with my new number. If you did not get the email or have lost it let me know and I will give it to you again.

Joshua's has also changed so if you need his new number again let me know.
I have been given the opportunity to witness something that most people do not get to see. On Monday evening as I was driving back to Albuquerque, I passed what I thought was a simple accident on the freeway. The following morning I found out that it was actually a police officer that was hit by a car and killed. To take it a step further he is the nephew of a co-worker and French's is handling the services of this police office. So I was feeling this tragedy from many angles.

Tuesday evening when I arrived at the mortuary I talked to his Aunt and Grandmother for awhile and offered what condolences I could. I also learned about a tradition I did not know about. The officers have an honor guard that stays with a fallen officer 24 hours a day until he or she is buried. The officer was a member of the Moriarity Police Department which is a very small town in a small county. So the other police, firemen and EMT's from around the state covered the honor guard for the smaller town.

Thursday evening I met the officers who were standing guard and learned a bit about them and their jobs. I received a phone call from the sheriff of Torrance County he wanted to come down and pin the officers badge on personally. When he arrived and I escorted him to the chapel where the officer laid in state I watched the procession the officers did. They march up the aisle to the casket and salute their fallen brother and then step to either side of the coffin. The sheriff pinned the badge on his officer and then stopped by to talk to me for a few minutes to say thank you.

Before I left I checked in with the officers to let them know I was locking up and there were there alone. I had to laugh when one of them gave me a look of complete horror. I assured him there was nothing in the funeral home that would hurt him. For once he was completely safe on the job. But, if the typewriter starts typing on its own simply tell them to stop. I laughed again when they called me "ma'am" I told them that was a first, I am the one usually saying "Yes Sir" this caused them to laugh. One said then I would be the only one most of the time they are called names I did not want to hear. I told them where I came from my daddy always taught me to be polite and respectful to the ones who will come running when I call 911.

I was surprised that these officers had never met the fallen officer nor the sheriff. These were complete strangers who were standing guard. Because of their job they were all family and they were there for each other no matter what. They considered it an honor to be part of the honor guard.

I have to say I was moved and very impressed with these guys and I was proud that I was able to be part of this service.

Sunday was suppose to be my big trip to Louisiana but that got cancelled. Since my nephew Joe's birthday is the 20th I decided to spend some quality time with him. I love the Houston Zoo, I always have. So I asked Joe if he wanted to go with me to the zoo. We went to the zoo and spent the morning there having a great time. I forget how much fun that is when you take a kid with you. We participated in all the zoo activities, petted the animals they would let you touch and I made Joe pose on anything and everything; as you will be able to tell when you see the pictures.

After the zoo we headed down the street to Methodist Hospital to visit Jerry for awhile and take him some lunch. At this point I had pretty much decided that I was going to leave that evening and just head home. I was spent and ready for some quiet. After the hospital Joe and I headed back to my parents house only to discover we were locked out. My parents went on with their gambling trip so we had no way in. I called my sister who headed over with keys to get in and with her came her kids. At this point I am tired, frustrated and ready for sleep. But with 3 kids running around screaming and hollering it was not going to happen. So the next best thing was a cigarette. I called my daddy on his cell phone and demanded to know where he had them hidden. He was kind enough to tell me and I spent a wonderful few minutes out back smoking like a freight train until my nerves were calm.

At this point my sister called my mom to tell her that Joe was out of school the next day and wanted to stay at her house but my parents were not expected back in town until much later. So I agreed to stay with Joe so he did not have to go the daycare. But only on the condition that we celebrated his birthday and mine, he readily agreed and I allowed him to pick which restaurant we went to for dinner. We had a lovely dinner and then went to Dairy Queen and bought an ice cream cake. We waited until my parents got home at 11, ate a piece of cake and then went to bed.

The best part of the day was when Joseph told me "Aunt Cindy this is the best birthday I have ever had." I was so moved and touched and my whole trip made sense at this point. But, I was still ready to go home.

Next: Day 5, Monday, January 19, 2009, The Trip Home
After my euphoric shopping trip I headed back to my parents to get ready for my trip to Louisiana that I had been planning on all week. I was trying to figure out what to wear that would be comfortable yet layered for the weather. One of the chaotic events of this trip was keeping my dogs separate from my brother's dog Brandy. Brandy is a very large mastiff who is very dog aggressive. With people she is the sweetest dog ever but with other dogs she is not. So we had to make sure that Brandy, Tau and Kali were never in the same place at the same time.

This approach worked well until Saturday night when Brandy was allowed back into the house while Tau & Kali were in the living room. Brandy immediately attacked Tau and this was not a simple dominance attack she was in for the kill. There are several things to this incident that were bad right off Brandy weighs in at about 150 plus pounds Tau weighs in at about 9. Brandy's head easily hits at my hip in a relaxed state; Tau's is at my ankle. So you can see the difference in size it was huge. Luckily I was in the living room at the time and saw the door open before Brandy got in, I just was not fast enough to get to Tau or Kali before she did. I was however, able to grab her collar and lift the entire dog off the floor and off Tau who was able to run to the bedroom with Kali.

If you have never experienced Tau hurt or upset it is an event to see. He does not stop screaming like a banshee until he is completely calm, while he is in his screaming fit his sister will protect him at all cost, which means biting me anytime I try to touch him. Once I was able to get to Tau I was able to check him for damages; another thing that is hard to do with the screaming and his long hair. But, I was able to determine no bones were broken, he could walk, and he was still breathing (in between the screaming). With Tau the best way to calm him is to swaddle him in a blanket and treat him like an infant. Once swaddled he settled down and I was better able to ascertain the extent of his injuries, he was defiantly limping on one leg and cried anytime you touched his side or neck. Upon further inspection I found a small puncture on his head and side but nothing life threatening. He was defiantly bruised and in shock. He spent 5 hours laying on the bed staring off into space.

Because of this I decided it would be best not to leave him unattended for too long while I went to Louisiana. So the trip to New Orleans and the Myrtles was cancelled and I spent Sunday with Joseph celebrating our birthdays together. At this point in the trip I was ready to call it quits and head home. But I didn't I stayed for another day.

Next: Day 4 - Cindy and Joseph Celebrate
Saturday, January 17, 2009

My Saturday started off with 3 kids, 3 dogs, 2 guinea pigs and 1 daddy. My mother and sister had to work so the kids were left for my daddy to babysit. This is like asking the dog to babysit your kids, he just sits on the sofa and flips the channels. The kids run all over the place. So I took things into my very capable, child friendly hands. No I did not tie them up and gag them. I did the only thing I know how to do with kids, took them out for donuts. I hyped them up on sugar and gave them back to my sister. I did play outside with them on the swings and the trampoline and took some photos after the sugar induced donut incident.

When my mother got off work and my sister took the kids home I headed out with my mom and Joe to meet my brother David for lunch. I wanted to go to Fry’s Electronic store to look for an electric plug for my laptop. This is a store that was built for men it is the weirdest store I think I have ever been in. First off it is designed to look like NASA so the interior of the store is all space ships and stars. It did not make any sense to me but I had boobs and it was not meant to make sense. They have everything that you can think of that plugs into an outlet. They have computers, TV’s, cameras, appliances, small appliances, computer books, games, movies, music, phones, and more. Like I said if you plug it in they sold it. They even sold crap that you use to fix the things you plug into the wall. I did not find what I was looking for but took the time to call Joshua and rub it in that I was in his favorite store. He was not impressed.

Once this journey was over, we headed to Methodist Hospital to visit my brother Jerry who is recovery from a medical procedure. It was fun visiting with him for a bit and running around my old stomping grounds of the Museum District. As we headed out to the parking garage you pay before you leave the building with a vending machine that takes credit cards it is very convenient but when you are finished it actually says “Thank and come back again soon” we are in a hospital for god sakes who wants to come back again soon? I just thought that was weird.

I dropped my mother and Joe off and went to spend some quality time shopping. As I went from store to store I loved walking around outside in January in Texas. It is warm and the air is humid and it smells great. I miss that so much. It was January and the temperature was maybe 60 degrees the air was full of fragrance from the moisture and the flowers. I was in heaven but on a mission. I had to get my requisite Blue Bell ice cream and I was planning my trip to New Orleans so it was off to bed for me or so we thought.

One thing I always forget about Texas is how much they are apart of the Bible Belt. For those of you who do not know what the bible belt is here is the definition according to Wikipedia “Bible Belt is an informal term for an area of the United States in which socially conservative evangelical Protestantism is a dominant part of the culture and Christian church attendance across the denominations is extremely high.” Not that there is anything wrong with being highly religious I just always get a bit nervous being in an environment where they consider me and my kind to be the evils of the world. But, I don’t advertise my religious beliefs and try not to roll my eyes too much.

As I got into my car to leave the lovely and cold city of Amarillo I noticed my tire seemed a bit low on air. So I started out looking for a Jiffy Lube to get my tire aired up. Much to my dismay I could not find a Jiffy Lube anywhere, so I stopped at a convenience store and asked the very Texas lady behind the counter where a Jiffy Lube was. Based on the look she gave me you would have thought I asked her if she had seen any aliens with underwear on their heads in the store. She had no idea what a Jiffy Lube was, so I politely asked where the people of Amarillo went to get their oil changed. I kid you not her response was “Well, our husbands do that.” I could not catch myself fast enough and I did roll my eyes. So I asked in my best Texas Twang “What do you do when you don’t have a husband to change the oil?” She had to call her co-worker over who guided me to a tire shop a block away. At this point, I knew I was back in Texas. It was brought home even more when the man filled my tires with air and said to me “There you go darlin’ you are all set.” If you have issues with being called cute endearments by strangers don’t go to Texas. I batted my eyelashes and used my best Texas Twang again and asked how much I owed him. He waved me off and told me to just be safe on my trip. I love southern men.

I set off south on I-27 it was a beautiful day but very windy. As I was driving south I came across the weirdest thing I have ever seen. I am sorry I did not get any photos but I will try to find one on the internet for you. It was a GIGANTIC crucifix of Jesus and it was encased in a glass front box. This statue is owned by the St. Isidore Catholic Church. Seriously I thought I was seeing things. The way they have the statue situated it looks like Jesus is leaning off the cross. I guess to insinuate the way he was hanging on the cross. But it was horrific and the scariest religious artifact I have ever seen. I tried to find something about it on line but there is not much other than a report from 2005 in the Austin Chronicle, he was not impressed either.

My day progressed as I traveled down the road I started to get bored by the empty cotton fields so I got out my trusted map and started looking for alternative roads to take that would not take too far off my track. I would find little country roads that connected to the highway and take those. I was having a great time traveling through the county side of Texas watching life go by. I hit I-20 and had to head east towards Dallas and was not very impressed with that part of the drive. But, I was doing well on time and the traffic was not bad at all. I got through Dallas/Ft. Worth area and headed south on I-45 and this is where I started to get some traffic.

Once I got into Huntsville the traffic really started to pick up. I passed the famous or infamous Texas State Penitentiary and the exit for Sam Houston University. I saw the statue of Sam Houston which is 67 feet tall and can be seen for miles heading north on I-45 as you approach Huntsville. I love this statue; I don’t know why, I just do. As I got closer to Houston I realized there were more people on the freeway than I think live in the entire state of New Mexico and I also remember how crazy Texas drivers are.

I arrived at my parents house about 8:30 that night and we headed out for dinner. Luckily we got in fast at Chili’s and had a nice dinner and went back home. I got the kids bedded down for the night and proceeded to spend my 2nd night without sleeping because Tau and Kali were busy exploring their accommodations. Why did this keep me from sleeping? Because the bed was too high for them to jump back in once they got down so I had to keep getting up to pick them up and put them back in bed. But, I was back home and all was well…for the moment.

Next: Day 3 – Pasadena
Thursday, January 15, 2009

My first trip of 2009 is to Houston to visit my family. As always I like to make the drive out there in 2 days versus straight through. It allows me time to ease into the trip and the chaos I know will ensue over the next few days. I had a few things to tie up at the office before I Ieft on my trip; so I did not start out of town until 3:00 p.m. On this trip I was taking Zara and Zoe Guinea Pig with me along with Tau and Kali. In case you are wondering; packing for 4 animals for 4 days is like packing for 4 kids. They require a lot more crap than I do. Zara and Zoe require twice daily feedings and care whereas the hamsters store their food and do fine for a few days at a time alone. I was concerned about how Kali would handle having two piggies riding in the backseat with her, but she did really well and did not bother them at all.

Typically I drive I-40 to Clines Corner and head south on 285 to Fort Stockton and then take I-10 east into Houston. But as you all know from past posts this is passage full of memories for me; both good and bad. And when I get caught up in memories I have a hard time focusing on anything else. Besides, I am really tired of thinking and remember past events. So I went the other way to Houston which is I-40 to Amarillo and then down through Lubbock, Abilene, around Ft. Worth/Dallas and into Houston in I-45.

I arrived in Amarillo about 8 o’clock on Thursday night. It was freezing there the temperature was hovering around 20 degrees. I checked into the hotel and got all the critters unloaded and into the room. My first thought was feeding everyone and cleaning the guinea pig carrier. I was not sure how the girls would handle the trip so I eased them out of their carrier in the bathroom and let them roam around a few minutes to get their bearings. They discovered the shower and stayed in there for most of the evening. Kali discovered the girls and seemed to be very confused as to what they were. She has only seen them in their pen and never free. I was happy and surprised that she was in no way aggressive to them, she was just curious and sniffed at them and then wandered off.

This was my first night of no sleep. Tau has issues with strange places and feels the need to growl all night with the occasional bark thrown in for good measure. Plus it was so cold I could not get warm even with the heater on. So it was a long cold night but I survived day 1 of the trip and headed out bright and early on Friday morning.

Next: Day Two – Driving Through the State of Texas
and it's only Tuesday. I think; it is Tuesday right? Yeah it's Tuesday. I have done so much in just two days it's hard to believe it has only been two days. Let see where do I start? Okay let's start with the main thing that was on my mind...me and men.

I always knew I would have an intimate encounter with a man again, I certainly did not think it would take 2 years to have that encounter but there are always reason for waiting. I had to reenter this world with someone I was comfortable with, it could not be just some random person. Because I also discovered that in the past 20 years I have not developed the ability to be a slut. Contrary to one person's belief that at this point in my life my astrology dictated that I would be very slutty. I am proof that astrology is not an absolute but a suggestion.

Over the past two years I could not understand how I would be able to trust a man enough to 1) be naked around him and 2) believe anything he said to me. When #3 and I divorced he had pretty much destroyed any chance I ever had of being intimate again just with the horrible things he said to me. But I have to say that it was wonderful hearing him tell me I was beautiful and believing it. To see the look in his eyes when he looked at me was amazing. I was thrilled to know that it only took time to get that part of me back. I found out that she wasn't killed only stunned. It took time and a very gentle caring person to wake her back up.

On that note I was now hit with a real problem. What did I want right now? Was I ready for a serious relationship? It seemed like yesterday that I just got out of a serious relationship that in reality lasted 26 years. But this was a decision that I had to make and I had to think about it. So I did, and I know that at this point in my life I don't want to be committed to another person. I love my job and I love the politics I am learning about. I want to go farther and deeper into the world of politics and I can't do that with a partner. I have to be free to be able to work all I want and not feel guilty about not being able to go out or being too tired to go out. As I was advised by my own astrologer if I want a relationship I need to find a man who is just as much a workaholic as I am. Then he would understand what I was doing and why. On the other hand I had to be able to do the same with him. So I talked to my friend and we have agreed friends is good for now.

What next, Texas. Oh yes the week leading up to me going to Texas is always nerve racking for me. There is so much drama, stress and history that it is very over whelming. At the moment my brother has been re admitted to the hospital due to complications from his recent surgery. I am trying to go with the flow on this and I was guided to take a different route to Houston. My usual route it full of memories both good and bad and with these memories overwhelming me I will not be able to focus on writing. So I am in the process of re-routing my trip. I have no doubt whatever way I go will be great, I love my state of Texas and it won't let me down.

Sunday is another up and down drama. Apparently I am the worlds greatest tour guide and everyone wants to go with me to Louisiana. So at this time, I only know my sister will be with me, but my Brother Christopher and his friend, Gabriel want to come along as well. Since we are leaving Houston at 0 dark 30 as Joshua says we will have plenty of time to go to the Myrtles and to New Orleans. I think I can get some great inspiration on writing in New Orleans.

I have a camera (thank you Eddie for loaning it to me)and I will definitely take lots of pictures and post them as soon as possible. As for now, I have to get through Wednesday & Thursday in order to get out of town Thursday night. Wish me luck.
I am still heading to Houston next week for a fast visit. But I have made a bit of an alteration to the trip. My mother and her friends would like to go to the casino in Louisiana outside of Lake Charles. We all know how I feel about casino's, I put $20 buck in and if I am losing at $10 I take my money and leave. Basically, I spend about 5 minutes in the casino.

I started looking around and seeing what trouble I could get into in Louisiana. Of course my first thought was New Orleans, but like I said me alone in that city would not be a good thing, the food, the history, the ghosts the magick. It is a world wide disaster waiting to happen. So I looked other places and came up with the perfect place to go St. Francisville.

For those of you who do not know St. Francisville is home to the famous Myrtles Plantation (www.myrtlesplantation.com/)which is one of the most famous haunted plantation in the South. It has a great history and a great story and I can't wait to go and see it for myself. Also in St. Francisville they have about 6 other plantations you can tour but I want to see the Myrtle's Plantation.

I will take lots of pictures on the trip and post them as soon as I get back.
As I told you in a previous post I am starting a book on divorce and I would like to invite anyone who has experienced divorce to share their story with me. You can tell me how horrorible it was, how easy it was, how simple it was or whatever you want to share. All names will be kept private and changed if the story is used in the book. You will be given credit for your submission in the book. Just send me an email and give me your story.
I meditate a lot and I meditate because I like to. I like to stop for a few minutes and allow my mind to just be in the moment. Not thinking about the day, the night, or any problems that I may have. I started meditating when I was a youngster in my early 20's. As a young adult I would do what everyone did and turn on some nice soothing music or nature sounds; and them promptly fall asleep.

It took me a long time to learn how to stay awake while meditating with this music. Then the older I got I realized that I like soothing music, opera, classical, jazz, etc. when I am trying to rest or sleep. But when I want to do something more I need different music. So I tried meditating to Metallica my all time favorite group and I had some amazing insights. I started using different metal music to meditate, Ozzy, Def Leppard and Queensryche. I realized that this music is a completely different vibration for me, when I want to think and work on issues I listen to metal and drive. When I want to just rest I listen to Classical and Opera and drive.

People would make fun of me when they learned that I listened to Metallica to meditate but it did not bother me. I like being able to meditate and get something from it. For me meditating is not a way to relax it is a way to be. I can relax in a hot bubble bath if I want to relax.

So for those of you who meditate and feel like you are missing something, try different music. Soothing music is great and it has a place but good old fashion hard rock is good too. If you like country go for it, test different music and see what you get. Try music from different countries and nationalities you would be surprised how great music from the Latin world is. They have great rock and pop bands that we never hear in the US. Go out and explore the world of music for your meditating and see what you find. You may be surprised at the levels you reach during your meditation.
There is a TV show on the USA Network called The Starter Wife. It is based on a book of the same name by Gigi Levangie Grazer. The plot of the book and television show is a woman who was married to a successful business man who dumps her just shy of their 10th anniversary and goes with a younger woman. I tried to read the book but it did not hold my attention for long. I have never tried to watch the show because I never have enough time to devote to a series anymore. But, the other day I got to wondering "Am I a Starter Wife?" Technically no, since all my ex's (except #1) were married previously.

What made me start thinking about this was that all 3 of my ex's divorced me and remarried other women. The only new wife that I have met (and care to meet) is #1's wife Tamara and we get along great. But, like I said previously we got married at 18 and divorced a few years later. There is 22 years between that time and today so there is nothing left to hash out. And he did what any respectable man would do when you ask for a divorce...he left the country. Either way, all three seem happy with their new marriages.

So, if I am not a Starter Wife then what the hell am I? Here is the answer. I am a Tester Wife. You know like the tester perfume, cologne and hand lotion at the mall. You get to try it out to see if you like it before you actually buy it. With the guys that I married they all got involved with me, married me and then "tested" married life. They discovered what they liked, didn't like, wanted, didn't want, etc. and then promptly dumped me to go and find a new prettier, younger, sexier, less cynical wife. They go into this new marriage knowing what works for them and what does not, they know what to do to make a wife happy now so they feel safer in their new marriage.

So where am I in this I am now used and worn out. I have spent in #2's case 4 years and in #3's case 7 years trying to be a wife and trying, albeit in vain, to make someone happy that deep down has no plans of staying with me. I am a marriage prostitute, they married me to try me out and learn the ropes. As far as I am concerned it is no different than a father hiring a prostitute for his teenage son so he can learn about women from a women. She is nice and gentle with the little man and teaches him what to do to please a woman, she teaches him the way of life so that he can use it on on his future wife or significant others. It never gets out that this young man was trained in the arts of love by a prostitute, I am sure he tells all the ladies he is just naturally gifted and all the ladies fall for it. Why won't they? It would never cross their minds that he was taught by someone else.

If this was a romance novel and it was the 1800's when he dumped me I would have gotten a large house, jewelry, money, clothes and all kinds of parting gifts. This is to help sooth any guilt he would be feeling about leaving me behind as used and the chances of another man wanting me would be slim. But this is the 21st century and all I got was a legal bill, hurtful words and told that I never was good enough for them and that I did not live up to their standards and that I should not feel bad but be happy that I was let go and I can go on to start a new life with someone else.

What they don't ever realize is that while they were learning the art of marriage from me, they were also destroying the art of marriage for me. I am sure both #2 and #3 just think I can walk out and pick any guy off the side of the road take him home and marry him the next day. Because this is what they did, but for me it is not that easy, I was not the winner in the football game, I was the football. Now I get to try and rebuild some symbalance of trust for men and hope that one day I will allow a man into my life for more than just a date.
The partying has started already for my upcoming birthday. At times like this I wonder why I always hated celebrating my birthday. Oh yeah because I did not have any friends that wanted to celebrate with me and my family was always in their own world. I started off the celebrations with Gail over BBQ at Rudy's on Monday, tonight is dinner with Kyle, I don't know where but it is Italian. Oh yeah a date that I can dress up for. No offense to Gail but I wore jeans to our BBQ dinner. This weekend I am working but I will do something I am sure to continue the partying. I am spending January 18th (the day before) in Louisiana with my parents. They are going to gamble I am going to eat some honest to goodness soul food and beignets. Oh I can't wait, my mouth is watering thinking of it. I may just drop off the parents at the casino and head to New Orleans it is only 3 hours away. Me in New Orleans alone that is a scary thought for the still traumatized people of New Orleans. But, I am sure there are some great haunted places around Kinder Louisiana that I can check out while the parents gamble.

As always I will keep everyone updated.
No not that and get your mind out of the gutter. I started casting in my sleep again. I have not done this for a long time and I have been waiting patiently to do so.

So what does it mean when I cast in my sleep? We first off casting for me is a very personal thing. I can get spells out of books and I sometimes do or from other people or the coven. But most of the time I create my own spells and rituals so that they are more personal. The main sign that I am ready to start a spell is that I will write it in my sleep or I will wake up know exactly what to say and do.

I have wanted to do this to bring Mr. Right into my life; but as you know I got nothing on that subject. Until last night, the guides had given me a banishing mantra to recite to remove any lingering essence of #3 and I do this anytime he pops into my mind, thoughts and apparently dreams. I will automatically start chanting the mantra, once I am doing the mantra in my sub conscious I know things are going the way they are suppose to. So much happens in our sleep that we are never aware of because our conscious mind is resting. But our sub conscious mind is the most powerful part of our being. It controls just about everything you do and you don’t know it. So getting your sub conscious mind under control can be a challenge, it is something you have to work at constantly and you have to know when it is taking over again so you can catch it in the process.

Last night as I was saying my mantra I started adding to it, which really caught me off guard. I would say the part of the mantra the guides gave me and then without even thinking about it add more to. So basically I am saying the mantra of banishing him and asking for what I want to replace him. I really love doing this because I get really creative when I am not doing a million things at once. And this time I was being very specific about what I want in the next man who enters my life.

I also realized that I am finally ready to have a man in my life because there is no way my I would have started a spell for one if I was not ready for one. Even when I thought I was ready no spells would come and this was my minds way of saying “not yet”.

I am excited; Friday will be the day I do the actual ritual. The moon is waxing and Friday is ruled by Venus. So if you want to attract someone you do the work on Friday. If you are trying to dump someone you do the work on Saturday. Saturday is ruled by Saturn and this is the day you start any banishing, binding, or dumping work. You have to make sure the moon is in the correct phase to protect it from failing. So Friday the 9th is going to be perfect for what I need to do now it is up the Goddess, the Law of Attraction and the guides to bring the right guy into my life. I just hope he is not a policeman, I don’t need to meet anymore men with a God complex, much less a God complex with a gun on their hip.

Wish me luck.

I have been actively perusing dating via the online dating service. It has not been too bad. I have met a nice guy or two and then some odd ones. For instance, the last few days I have been talking to this one gentleman and we have just chatted about nothing really. Tonight as I am waiting for this never ending rosary to end we were visiting back and forth. I was not feeling "all that" for him .But thought I would at least give him the benefit of the doubt. From now on when I am not feeling "all that" I am just walking away.

Email #5 or #6 this evening started with "This is going to be a strange question" Okay, I have been asked some strange questions in the past and there is really nothing that I consider strange since I spend my nights and weekends playing with dead people. So what does a perfect stranger consider to be a strange question? Well first off he tells me that he fill me in later and then promises to do so. "I am looking for a new position do you know anybody who is hiring?" WTF, do I look like a temp agency? No where on my profile do I state that I am an employment agency. Also, if he is not employed he is missing a major criteria on my wish list….EMPLOYMENT and MONEY.

Seriously though I just laughed, what goes through a guy's head during the online dating process that makes them think "I know how to cinch a date with her, ask her for a job lead." Then to top it off he asks me to use his email address instead of responding through the dating site his email address starts off with Goofy and then a number. Defiantly not the man for me, there is no way I am associating with a man on the romantic field who goes by the name Goofy. I have high Southern Girl standards and this gentleman does not fit those standards. And to think I was willing to look past the fact that he has kids.

At this rate I will never get a free dinner or sex again. I am not sure at this point which is more important the dinner or the sex. Wait a minute I am sure the sex is more important I can buy myself dinner. Sex alone is just depressing and weird.
In my world of magick there are two kinds of magick that can be performed. You can do white magick or black magick; as far as my teaching went there was no in between or grey magick. It was either right or wrong. Growing up with Paganism as a way of life and certainly when I was raising Joshua we taught that you only did magick with the best intentions in mind. Even a simple love spell was wrong because you were trying to control someone else's emotions and having them look at you differently. Many people like to dabble in the "grey" area with spells and rituals that are wrong but they wiggle around until they convince themselves that it is okay. In the Pagan world we believe and are taught that if you do a spell that causes harm to someone else that harm will be returned to you 7 fold. That in itself keeps most of us in control. Of course like most religions we are also taught that when you do something good that comes back to you as well. Of course in my opinion you get the bad much faster than you get the good.

In my 26 years of being an active Pagan I have never wandered from the "white" side of the whole ordeal and I have really never been tempted to until recently. I can't say for sure what actually pushed me over the good witch/bad witch edge but something did. It could have been my ex bragging that he has remarried, and found a woman who likes to cuddle, eat scallops and live in an environment that is hell hot. All the things I did not like to do. Although, I am not opposed to cuddling but I can not sleep when it is 80 degrees in my house. It just seemed that he only told me what he liked about her by telling me what he hated about me. More information that I did not need to know or really care to know. It also pushed home what the guides have telling me for months; it was time to banish him from my life, my thoughts, my home and my complete existence. But, I am not a fan of banishing people because when we banish people from our lives we tell the universe and the Goddess that we want them to go to whatever is better for them. Basically you have to be nice and I in no way want to be nice. I know we have been separated for 19 months (because he reminds me all the time) and I should be over the "hate" part. However, in my defense I tell EVERYONE I get involved with. Piss me off all you want because I will eventually get over it. But, never ever hurt my feelings because if you do I will spend the rest of my life torturing you to no end. I don't know why I have this glitch in me but I do and I always have. Luckily the only way you can really hurt my feelings is if I am in love with you and since I don't fall in love with many people there are not a lot of people out there hurting my feelings, except him. He made it a point to do this as often as possible since our divorce. He does not always achieve his goal but he has done enough that he currently resides at the top of my list of torturing at the moment. Or at least he was until the other day.

I had just fallen over the edge and gotten out my little black book to find something fun and entertaining to do when I got my ass royally kicked by the guides. Now, if you have never had your ass kicked by the spirit realm let me tell you it is not something you will enjoy. There is no fun to it whatsoever and they have no sense of humor. As I was setting up my tools and things my house went freezing cold you could see your breath in the air and then it went to hell hot. All this happened in a matter of seconds. I looked over at the dogs and they were totally unaffected by the temperature change so I knew this was not a thermostat problem.

I have 5 spirits that live in my house at the moment and they are there with my blessing, most of the time they are okay to have around. They keep the critters entertained and keep the bad outside. This night they were not happy, they do not like it when I am being naughty. But I was in no mood to be reprimanded by the other side, I knew what I wanted to do and I had the vision of my ex swinging on a string like a frog on the end of a fishing pole. My first problem was no matter what I tried to do I could not get candles to light and the temperature kept fluctuating from cold to hot. The energy in my house was not normal, the spirits were uncomfortable and I was getting a bit spooked, the dogs however were happy as clams.

Ziere or Z for short is my main guide. He is the MC for the guides except for Ivey she has no problems talking on her own, but then she is in charge of different things. Z demanded to know what I was doing and why, so I told him. One thing about your guides they live your lives with you so if you repeat a life they come back too. None of us want to come back again. So for me to do what I was doing was going to make me come back many more times just to pay for the deed. We bantered back and forth about my anger and hurt, Z does not understand relationships, he feels they are a waste of time because humans are never happy with anyone. One thing about spirits they do not have emotions so there is not empathy for my hurt feelings. Their solution is to just let it go. Easier said than done but it does make some sense. Before I could do any harm to the ex or myself we reached an agreement. They would take away the anger if I would repeat the mantra to banish him from my life. I have had them take away anger before, they don't like to do because I learn from it. But I have been to the point of actual violence so they can take away that anger not 100% but enough so that I am not sending anyone to the hospital with my energy.

The house went back to normal; or as normal as my house ever is. I woke up the next day with the mantra on my lips, I realized I say this mantra constantly without even thinking about it. I also realized that I no longer had the level of anger I had a few days ago. It is not gone 100% bur enough that I don't worry about running into him on the street…literally.

The guides had some very strict instructions for me and that was I no longer have time to waste on someone else's life. I have things to do, they will take care of the things that are wasting my time and push me to the things that I need to do. I have agreed to take at least one weekend off a month to spend on myself and learn to relax and keep myself healthy and happy. Which means traveling and driving, which is what makes me happy. So we will see, I did not enjoy seeing a side of my guides I have never seen before and I won't do anything to see that side again.
It is that time again my birthday month. I have several things planned this month starting off with welcoming the new year with various friends. Kyle and I are trying to schedule dinner together. I have 2 trips planned this month.

The first one will be to Texas, I will leave on the 15th and return on the 19th. I will finally get to meet my newest nephew Jossiah. Joseph turns 9 on the 20th so I will celebrate this birthday as well. My brother Christopher turns 39 on the 15th so one more reason to celebrate.

Trip 2 will be my annual birthday trip to Sedona with my friend, Deb. We are meeting up in the beautiful city on Saturday, January 24th for some much needed spiritual guidance and margaritas. I am taking Tau & Kali with me to introduce them to my own personal sanctuary. They will probably spend the better part of the trip at doggie day care but they will be with me for some hikes and meditation. Tau will love it because he loves to walk around as long as his feet do not get wet and this will be a perfect time to work on our training in an unfamiliar environment.

I of course and celebrating Tuesday the 20th with the rest of the Obamaites out there who are thrilled to see our man start his term as President. I just hope I do not have to work that night and screw it up.

If anyone has ideas for celebrations feel free to let me know.

I was given a "job" by the guides last night. I love it when spiritual beings give you a job, I never know what exactly it will be. But, this one is actually a very good thing and I will really enjoy doing it. I can honestly say that the ex's will not be very happy (except for #1 and he is not involved) but oh well. So what is the great new job? The guides told me to write a book about divorce but keep my usual humor in the writing. So I am writing a book called (I think) Surviving Divorce without Killing the Man. I figure I certainly have experience in this field since both are still alive. So I will keep everyone updated on my progress and if anyone has anything to add to the topic feel free to send me your thoughts and stories.
