I have to have surgery sometime in the next few weeks. Nothing big and scary but surgical none the less. When I spent time discussing this with my doctor she gave me the options of what could be done and what should be done. Well of course you know me I am going to go with what could be done. I am having the whole procedure done without anesthetic medication so that I can drive myself there and drive myself home. Crazy I know. But, I absolutely can not allow myself to rely on anyone to take care of me. It is not possible and it will never happen.
When I had my ankle surgery I was forced to rely on #3 and friends to drive me around and help me out. It was one of the worst experiences of my life. I do not like to be incapacitated and unable to take care of myself. But in my own defense I had no idea it would be as bad as it was. I was planning on being able to drive the following day but that did not happen. I think the doctor purposely withheld that tidbit of information knowing how independent and nuts I was.
So when this new incident popped up and I went through my ritual of refusing any type of assistance or help from the medical profession, I decided to see what it was that makes me so fucking insane when it comes to needing help. First off I want to say it has nothing to do with #3 and is all #2’s fault and part of my parents fault.
In 1994 I got pregnant, it was a surprise and I was so unprepared for it. I was going through a tremendous amount of personal issues already, my grandfather was died and my best friends father, who was a father to me as well, died and the stress of these two events was almost more than I could handle. The thought of bringing a child into my insane life hurt me to the core. No one deserved to live in my insane world, certainly not an innocent child. Several weeks into the pregnancy I had a miscarriage. It was a mutually agreed upon event between me and the spirit of the child. It started out fairly easy as miscarriages go but in the dark hours of the morning I started hemorrhaging way too much. After awhile I got it under control and figured that I might as well go to work since it was next door to my OB’s office. Unfortunately for me the drive started everything up again only worse. By the time I got to the office I was in pretty bad shape. I called #2 and he literally told me he was too busy to talk to me. I tried to tell him what was going on but he hung up on me. My co worker took me to the hospital, my office manager called my OB and then #2 and according to the other staff members basically told him where to go.
I don’t remember much about the entire event after that. I remember getting to the hospital and having too wait forever before my doctor actually came looking for me. They wheeled me into the OR and I don’t have any recollection of events until I woke up with that idiot standing over me acting like he saved my life. The doctor came in and very frankly told us that if I had waited much longer I would have died. He acted like the concerned caring partner. Getting all the instruction on how to care for me; like he was going to do anything. Asking her all the right questions you would ask when this happens. All I know is I was pissed, in pain and hurt beyond reason. While I laid there in and out of sleep he told anyone who would listen how he drove 100 mph to get to the hospital, even getting stopped by the cops and refusing to stay because he was so worried about me. The only ones who knew the truth were my co workers and my mother. He had the hospital staff eating out of his hand showing how much he cared for me and was devastated that I had lost our baby. He was worried I would never be able to have another child again. He was sort of right on that issue. I would never have another child again and I was told shortly after that the chances of me getting pregnant were very slim. But that was okay, since I did not want one anyways.
One think I can remember perfectly is this feeling of pure disgust with him. This event started the whole process of me never allowing myself to rely on anyone to get me through a crisis. If I could not do it on my own it would not get done. I looked at my mom and dad and asked them to please take me home. He argued and wanted me to go with him. I am sure he planned on dropping me off at my parents because he never wanted to take care of me or anyone else. But he wanted to look like the loving partner by wheeling me out of the hospital and putting me in the car. But, I wanted to go home with my parents. Besides I had a 7 year old that I needed to explain things to at home. After that I did not talk to him for almost a year. Unfortunately as it happens, time heals hurts and we made up and got back together and that just lead to more of the same until we divorced in 2000.
I personally think this is why I don’t get sick often as well. Even a cold is something I do not want help with. There is nothing worse than being sick and the person you live with making you feel guilty for being in the house with them and contaminating them. When I am sick, I don’t want anyone waiting on me, asking me if I need anything. I want to be left alone. I get very bitchy when people bug me about it, so I just make sure I don’t get anything that would require outside help.
This is also part of my whole Chiron cycle for 2009. This goes back to the wounded healer in my house of home. I have to learn to deal with this need to be uber-independent in order to heal the wounded healer in my astrology. How this is going to happen is unknown to me but this is why we have professional shrinks and I have a good one. I still have no plans of having any assistance with my procedure either before or after but you never know I may be taught something through it. We will see.

At first that was okay with me, because I thought “What the hell I am not going to marry the man.” Here is where my imperfection comes into play. I have no desire to waste my time dating someone I have no chance of a future with. No I do not plan on marrying him or anyone else for that matter but the dating scene is to tedious and time consuming and I don’t want to be friends. I have friends and I really don’t need more.
I was shocked at how vain and snobby my opinion to sounded to myself when I said it out loud. But, it is the way it is. I know that he says that my not having God in my life is okay with him. But how long before he decides that he really does need someone who will go to church with him and pray with him and has the same religious dedication that he has? Probably not long. The other thought that popped into my head was if he thought going out with a pagan was a great way to get laid. Because believe it or not people think that is all pagans do, sleep around while worshipping Satan. Apparently it goes hand in hand; or so I’m told. He knows a good Christian woman would never have sex outside of marriage, or so I’m told. But a good pagan woman has no morals. Whether this was true or not I don’t know but this is what goes through my head in the wee hours of the morning. So I canceled the date and decided I really need to find me a good pagan man to go out with. Since they are pretty scarce around here I may have to wait awhile, but a I am told the best things are things you have to wait for. I guess we will see.

Amid the grieving, a rare act of sportsmanship
Associated Press
It didn't matter that his DeKalb, Ill., High School basketball team had ridden a bus two and a half hours to get to Milwaukee, then waited another hour past game time to play. Didn't matter that the game was close, or that this was a chance to beat a big city team.
Johntel Franklin scored 10 points in the game following the loss of his mother. Johntel Franklin scored 10 points in the game following the loss of his mother.Something else was on Dave Rohlman's mind when he asked for a volunteer to shoot two free throws awarded his team on a technical foul in the second quarter. His senior captain raised his hand, ready to go to the line as he had many times before.
Only this time it was different. "You realize you're going to miss them, don't you?" Rohlman said. Darius McNeal nodded his head. He understood what had to be done.
It was a Saturday night in February, and the Barbs were playing a non-conference game on the road against Milwaukee Madison. It was the third meeting between the two schools, who were developing a friendly rivalry that spanned two states.
The teams planned to get together after the game and share some pizzas and soda. But the game itself almost never took place.
Hours earlier, the mother of Milwaukee Madison senior captain Johntel Franklin died at a local hospital. Carlitha Franklin had been in remission after a five-year fight with cervical cancer, but she began to hemorrhage that morning while Johntel was taking his college ACT exam.
Her son and several of his teammates were at the hospital late that afternoon when the decision was made to turn off the life-support system. Carlitha Franklin was just 39. "She was young and they were real close," said Milwaukee coach Aaron Womack Jr., who was at the hospital. "He was very distraught and it happened so suddenly he didn't have time to grieve." Womack was going to cancel the game, but Franklin told him he wanted the team to play. And play they did, even though the game started late and Milwaukee Madison dressed only eight players.
Early in the second quarter, Womack saw someone out of the corner of his eye. It was Franklin, who came there directly from the hospital to root his teammates on. The Knights had possession, so Womack called a time out. His players went over and hugged their grieving teammate. Fans came out of the stands to do the same. "We got back to playing the game and I asked if he wanted to come and sit on the bench," Womack said during a telephone interview. "No," Franklin replied. "I want to play." There was just one problem. Since Franklin wasn't on the pre-game roster, putting him in meant drawing a technical foul that would give DeKalb two free throws.
Though it was a tight game, Womack was willing to give up the two points. It was more important to help his senior guard and co-captain deal with his grief by playing. Over on the other bench, though, Rohlman wasn't so willing to take them. He told the referees to forget the technical and just let Franklin play.
"I could hear them arguing for five to seven minutes, saying, `We're not taking it, we're not taking it," Womack said. "The refs told them, no, that's the rule. You have to take them."
That's when Rohlman asked for volunteers, and McNeal's hand went up.
He went alone to the free throw line, dribbled the ball a couple of times, and looked at the rim.
His first attempt went about two feet, bouncing a couple of times as it rolled toward the end line. The second barely left his hand. It didn't take long for the Milwaukee players to figure out what was going on. They stood and turned toward the DeKalb bench and started applauding the gesture of sportsmanship. Soon, so did everybody in the stands. "I did it for the guy who lost his mom," McNeal told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "It was the right thing to do." They may not remember our record 20 years from now, but they'll remember what happened in that gym that night. Dave Rohlman, head coach of the opposing DeKalb team on what his players will take away from this experience.
Franklin would go on to score 10 points, and Milwaukee Madison broke open the game in the second half to win 62-47. Afterward, the teams went out for pizza, two players from each team sharing each pie. Franklin stopped by briefly, thankful that his team was there for him.
"I got kind of emotional but it helped a lot just to play," he said. "I felt like I had a lot of support out there." Carlitha Franklin's funeral was last Friday, and the school turned out for her and her son. Cheerleaders came in uniform, and everyone from the principal and teachers to Johntel's classmates were there. "Even the cooks from school showed up," Womack said. "It lets you know what kind of kid he is."
Basketball is a second sport for the 18-year-old Franklin, who says he has had some scholarship nibbles and plans to play football in college. He just has a few games left for the Knights, who are 6-11 and got beat 71-36 Tuesday night by Milwaukee Hamilton. It hasn't been the greatest season for the team, but they have stuck together through a lot of adversity.
"We maybe don't have the best basketball players in the world but they go to class and take care of business," Womack said. "We have a losing record but there's life lessons going on, good ones."
None so good, though, as the moment a team and a player decided there were more important things than winning and having good stats.
Yes, DeKalb would go home with a loss. But it was a trip they'll never forget. "This is something our kids will hold for a lifetime," Rohlman said. "They may not remember our record 20 years from now, but they'll remember what happened in that gym that night."

Kwan Yin is often referred to as the female buddha. According to legend she was a princess who turned her back on a life of luxury and money to join a convent and spend her life looking for enlightenment. After having achieved enlightenment and entering Nirvana she heard crying back on Earth and returned to help those suffering achieve enlightenment.
Kwan Yin has many titles in many different countries and cultures. She is known as the Compassionate Goddess and the Female Buddha. She responds to the ordinary people and anyone can call upon her. She is thought to bring good luck and protection into the home.
Thinking about it and this little creature I could not have asked for a better diety to protect her. Kwan has lived a short life here on earth that has been nothing but strife, pain and abuse. She was simply used as a puppy mill for greedy people. But, instead of being angry and violent, little Kwan in loving and compassionate. Just like the diety she is named for.

I had a dream the other night that I was sad to see end and not because it was such a great dream but because there was so much symbolism in this dream that I was having trouble keeping up with it all in order to remember it.
The dream involved me, my daddy, and someone else I just don't know who. We were driving in the car, I was in the backseat enjoying the drive and the scenery as we drove along a seawall. I will stop here to note that I dream about water A LOT. Either the ocean, river, lake or pond. But, I almost always dream about water. Water in dreams symbolize emotion and as I have said in the past I am a very emotional person. Most people do not know this; even if you were married to me. Because, I do not show emotions; other than anger; to anyone. I will not cry in front of anyone EVER. And this is due to past emotional abuse I have received when displaying this emotion in front of those I depended upon for support and help. Because of this abuse and lack of caring I have built up the wall around me that will not allow me to show a certain level of emotions.
So back to the dream...
According to the Dream Interpretation to dream you are in a car and in the back seat indicated that I am putting myself down and allowing others to take over. It also is an indication of my dependence and degree of control I have on my life. They way I took this message was that yes I was allowing others to take over my life and run it for me. However, since the beginning of 2009 and Cindy's Year of Doing Nothing, this has changed. When you make a change this monumental there is going to be a ripple effect. When I changed something that in some way will have an effect on those around me there is going to be a vibrational war. Their vibration will not want to give up the power it has over me, but my vibration is no longer accepting their power and is in fact turning away. So this does make sense to me.
Moving on...
As we were driving down the seawall on my right hand side was this huge tidal wave. But, instead of feeling scared or threatened, I was absolutely mesmerized by it. It was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. The water was a dark midnight blue, with little bits of white caps on the the tips of the wave. I could see the energy moving within the water as it hung in the air growing larger and larger as we drove by. I commented to my dad about the wave but he was completely oblivious to it and did not see it. So this wave was meant for me and only me. To see a tidal wave or large wave in your dreams once again represents emotions, in this case and emotional issue that demands attention. We all know that this is the year of me dealing with Chrion in my astrology. Chrion is the wounded healer and it will affect my the house that my home is in. In simple terms it means that I have some issues with my family that need to be resolved that have been ignored most of my life. This is so true and is something that over the years I have never been ready to deal with. But I am ready to do it now. The plus side to a tidal wave in your deams is that it also symbolizes clearing away old beliefs and that is something that will definately be happening this year.
The next aspect of the dream was my daddy in the dream. Fathers in dreams symbolize authority and protection. So to me being in a car with my daddy while watching a tidal wave means that no matter what I have to deal with this year he will be there for me. He may not understand anything that is going on but I know he is there for me to protect me and to comfort me. BTW, he is the only man I can ever cry in front of. He does not like but he does not criticize me for it either.
Based on my dreams and their meanings I still know that I have a long road ahead until 2010 but the road will be so wonderful at the end. It will be amazing how clear my life will be in 2010.
Teddy & Swirl are guinea pigs. I am fostering them for a friend who is having financial difficulties. I could not bear to see her have to give them to strangers and worry about their welfare we they are going to stay with us until she is back on her feet. Teddy is a Teddy Guinea Pig and as you can see by her photo she is a big fluff ball. Swirl is a male Abyssinian who's colors are swirled hence the name. The interesting thing about Swirl is that he is blind. He has cataracts that caused him to loose most of his sight. From what I understand from his mom he can see movement and shadows. Teddy is his seeing eye pig, she keeps him on track and makes sure he gets to his food and hay. She also uses his blindness to steal his cucumber when he is not looking. They are adorable and the sweetest two piggies. My girls love Teddy but since Swirl is a boy they prefer he stay in his cage.
Dharma is a little black and white mouse. Who is the smartest mouse on the planet. I got her and a hamster from a woman who rescued them from a breeder. I have never had a mouse before and this should be interesting.
The newest hamster is still unnamed. Sometimes it takes me a while to get a name for them other times I know their name the minute I see them. This little girl was a breeder hamster that was used to have litters for pet stores. Much like puppy mills they do not have a good life. They are bred time after time until they either die or someone rescues them. She was lucky and was rescued. Much like Tunie, this little girl is so sweet and trusting. She allows you to hold her and cuddle her and never tries to bite. Her first experience with a hamster cage scared the day lights out of her. Again, like Tunie she does not know she is a hamster. So to help her out and allow her to be comfortable I put her in a large plastic bin with lots of hamster hiding places so that she can learn how to nest and climb and just enjoy being a hamster.
This girl may already have a home, but I had to let the adoptive family know that she is older and therefore may not have a long time left. It will be up to them to decide if they want to adopt her or wait for a younger one to come along. Either way she will be a happy hammie from now on.

My day started out like any other day in my life, getting ready for work. Since Shoe Day is not an official holiday I was excepted at work. I stopped off at the bagel shop for some bagels to celebrate the day with my friends Harold and Kristian. I did snap at a mentally handicapped person but that had nothing to do with Shoe Day he was just annoying me. The day progressed as they all do and finally 5 o'clock came it was off to the shoe store.
I started out at my favorite one Shoes on a Shoestring and found several pairs of summer sandals that I really liked. The only problem was I can't buy a pair of shoes and then wait months to wear them. So I decided to head to the mall and see what they had to offer. I hit the mother load at the mall. One thing great about Shoe Day is that it is in February and they are starting to get their spring shoes in so all the winter shoes are on sale and by winter shoes I mean boots. I love boots almost as much as I love sandals. I found a great pair of black leather kid boots that will go great with my jeans and slacks and since they were on sale I bought a great blouse as well. It was a memorable occassion.
The one drawback was an incident with the saleman, he was full of the Valentine's Day cheer and really getting on my nerve. The conversation went something like this:
Salesman: "Are you having a great Valentine's Day"
Me: "Sure"
Salesman: "So what did you get from the man in your life"
Me: "Nothing"
Salesman: "He did not get you anything?"
Me: "Nope"
Salesman: "Oh he will when you get home?"
Me: "I doubt it since there is no one waiting for me at home"
Salesman: "What? No boyfriend?"
Me: "No, no boyfriend"
By this point I am getting annoyed and just want to pay and leave.
Salesman: "Oh I see, Your husband doesn't celebrate Valentine's Day?"
Me: "Oh I'm sure he is...with his new wife. But, I don't know I was not included in on his plans"
The salesman has a look of pure horror on his face at this comment.
Salesman: "Well thank you for shopping with us, have a good day."
I felt good as I left him staring at me. I finished up my Shoe Day by picking up my co-hort in crime, Phyllis and heading to Rio Rancho. I was taking in a mouse and a hamster. I got them, dropped Phyllis off at home, took the new critters inside and set them up in the sanctuary and then went and took a nice hot bath and then hit the bed.
All in all it was a pretty good day. I need to create more Shoe Days through out the year. I just have to replace holidays I don't celebrate.
Valentines was always something I liked to do with Joshua but for me it was just another excuse to buy him presents and have fun. In school you always gave each other silly cards and had a party. As teens it was more of a big deal then when you became an adult. In the office there were always those people that got flowers and candy from their husbands, and all the other ladies would allow themselves to feel jealous for a few minutes because their husbands never thought enough to send flowers. I was always the opposite, I did not want flowers or candy. I really did not want anything. It seemed silly to spend 3 times a much for flowers that are going to die in a few days. Don't give me candy then bitch about my weight afterwards.
But as a single person people actually look at us with sympathy when this or any holiday rolls around. I have been asked "What are you going to do alone on Valentines?" The same things I do alone everyday. Feed the critters, cook for the dogs, clean out cages and work. Why would it be any different? Just because I don't have a man at my house eating my Oreo's at the moment does not mean I am sitting at home crying in my iced tea because it is February 14th and I am alone. Hell being alone at Christmas is worse that Valentine's Day. You have 2 months of those horrible "He went to Jared" commercials to live through.
But, I have started one tradition for myself on Valentine's Day. And this was not because I was sad I was single, it just sounded fun to me. On Valentine's Day I go to my favorite shoe store, either Shoes on a Shoestring or Dillards and buy myself a pair of shoes. This is a gift of love to myself. My own personal way of saying I Love You and You Mean the World To Me. And if you know me you know that I am a whore for a great pair of shoes.
So tomorrow while everyone is trying to figure out where to go for dinner, or at Wal-Mart sorting through the last of the flowery cards looking for one that is just perfect I am going to be shopping for shoes and loving every minute of it. I may even get the critters a little something special just because they are so cute.
So if you are in a relationship have a great day. If you are not go out and buy yourself a snazzy pair kicks and remember when all the hearts of chocolate are empty and the flowers are dead you will still have your gorgeous shoes to enjoy until you get tired of them or until the new Summer sandals come out.

It's All About the Shoes

Earlier this week I was watching the medical channel (my addiction) and there was actually a doctor that was telling the camera that she does not perform any elective surgeries or deliveries on Friday the 13th. She did follow up with saying that if the patient went into labor on the 13th or it was an emergency she would do the necessary work. But only if it was a true emergency. WTF, this is a professional medical provider who is saying that I can't do anything on this day because it is bad luck. What does that say to that nervous first time mother who delivers on Friday the 13th? Your baby is now set up for a life of bad luck?
I set out to find out the story behind the whole Friday the 13th mystery. What is was, why it was and for the love of George will it ever go away. Here is what I found out.
According to everything I read or glanced at it looks like this superstitions was not written about before the 19th century. The earliest written documentation was in 1869 biography of Gioachino Rossini. It is believed that the superstition was passed down through word of mouth which does make sense for the time. But why would the 13th be a bad luck day. I know some Chinese consider 4 to be an unlucky number and if you add 1 and 3 you do get 4. According to wikipedia in numerology 12 is considered the number of completeness and 13 is consider irregular. There is mention of that it could have derived from the Last Supper and that having 13 people at a dinner table means 1 will die.
So basically from what I gathered there is no true reason for this superstition. It is just something to do and carry on. It does make for a great horror movie and day to make excuses for not wanting to work. But as for me I always seem to have good Friday the 13th's. I have no bad memories associated with the 13th, I was not married on the 13th with any of my ex's, no engagements on the 13th, no special fond memories on the 13th, so as far as I am concerned I like Friday the 13th and think we should make it a holiday.
I hate when people send me forwarded emails that are nothing but crap. Not ones that warn you of everything from cancer causing deodorant to AIDS infected needles at the gas pump. But the ones that are either a joke, a religious blessing, a thought of how important you are too them, a thought of how loved you are by them, etc.
Why do I hate these emails? Because they come without any personal word what so ever. Sometimes you have to scroll so far down the list to see what the hell the message is that you get lost along the way or forget what you were doing. This message was sent to so many people that I feel like an after thought. The other part I hate is that most of the people who send these to me are either close friends, use to be close friends or a relative. These are people I would love to hear from, I want to know what is going on in their life. But, I get the impression I am more interested in them than they are in me. Because the only time I hear from them is with crap mail.
Seriously, how hard is it to type a one liner "Thought of you when I saw this and wanted to let you know I was thinking of you" or maybe "I miss you so much, wish we could talk more often, but know I am thinking of you". Really, is that hard? It must be because I never get that. I only get the crap mail. It has gotten to be so often that most of the time if there is a FW: in the subject I just delete it or if I have to remotely scroll down without seeing anything personalized I don't go any farther.
Today, I got one from a guy (who I wrote a post about) that found out I was not christian. He won't talk to me or communicate with me but apparently he thinks it is okay to send me a crap mail joke. Whatever, he was so not worth my time to even look at what it was.
So my advice is that if you like to send these out to you family and friends. PLEASE take the time to at least say Hey before hitting send. Then it is so much more less offensive than if you just randomly forward it.
And, I step down from the soap box.
What annoys me is most christians claim to be compassionate and loving people. Living the way of Jesus. In all my religious education I do not recall Jesus turning his back on those who did not follow his ways. In fact if I recall correctly he welcomed and embraced those who were different from him. Yet as soon as his followers find out I am not Team Jesus they treat me like I am a pedophile mass murder. This is not all christians that I know. I know several of them that did not know my religious preference until years after knowing me. But, it did not change their feelings for me. They just stopped inviting me to church.
I have friends who are Jewish when they find out I am not christian and I am not Jewish most of them have either asked questions or said "Good for you" but not christians. They want to "bring me back to Jesus." I don't want to be brought back to Jesus, I did not leave Jesus, I was never there to start with. I was what my parents said I was not what I wanted to be. As soon as I was able to learn on my own I found my own path and I have embraced it for 25 years now.
When Joshua was a child he actually went to religious private school. Not because I wanted him to be religious but because private schools in Texas are only run by the churches. You did not have a choice. Joshua started questioning religion when he was 7 years old. Being a non-chrisitian I was able to answer his questions to the best of MY ability not my pastors ability. I allowed him to pick his own path to go down. In his 21 years he has been down many paths, he has been Catholic, Jehovah Witness, Agnostic and now he considers himself a Pagan. But it was his choice, I encouraged him to try every religion out there so he could make an educated decision about what he believed and did not believe.
So why is this bothering me? Because I met this really nice guy. I did not know a lot about him but I really liked him and he claimed to really like me. I flat out asked him in the beginning "What was it about my profile that you liked?" Is response was "Your very pretty and you don't have small kids." Over the course of our conversation he mentioned church here and there. I really did not think about it. He is very family oriented which I liked. But, something was bothering me and it was bothering me so much that I actually could not sleep. What bothered me was he was assuming I was a good christian girl and that I went to some church here in town.
I spent some serious time considering if I would allow myself to go back in the broom closet for a man. I did this most of my life, it was not until I left Texas I would openly tell people I did not know that I was a pagan. I did not open a conversation with it, but if I was asked I would tell people and I still do. After thinking for a bit, I realized that no I would never deny myself one of our constitutional rights Freedom of Worship. Not to mention, my faith is a big part of who I am it is not just something I do on Halloween. I do this 365 days a year. Besides how would I hide the fact that I meditate twice a day and I have very active ghosts living in my house. Hell, if i ignore them they toss things at me. So these were just simple things. How do I explain the coven, my friends and my altar?
Based on my internal conversation with myself I decided to let him know before this went any farther. So I shot off an email to him this afternoon and you could hear the iron wall crash down with a resounding silence to follow. This person who for that past week has emailed me 20 times a day, text messaged me, sent photos, etc. stopped all communication. The kicker he does not know what I am. He only knows I am not a christian. I did not give him a religion I just said I was not a christian.
Personally if this is how the single christian men are I will pass. Because my thought is if they are this judgemental before they even really know you what are they like when they do. I have already lived with 2 extremely judgemental men and I don't need anymore.

Several weeks ago a woman in California gave birth to 8 babies, while having 6 children at home. So now she has 14 children to care for. But wait, she lives at home with her parents and has no job. Her mother has been caring for her other 6 children while she has been confined to a hospital bed since her 23rd week of the pregnancy. To read the story and not say "What was this woman thinking? would be nearly impossible. But on the other hand what was the doctor thinking? He knew of the existing children who were all conceived artificially. He knew she had no job and no home of her own.
My only guess is both were thinking dollar signs. As soon as word got out about this so called miracle birth people across the country were calling to donate baby items. One report said the mother was looking to make $2 million dollars per interview. What would the interviewer ask? How are you going to take care of 14 children? Where are you going to get the money to raise 14 children? How are you going to cloth 14 children? These questions are all good but with $2 mil an interview I can see the answers already.
Her mother has already expressed very vocally her disgust and anger over this situation and has said she will not be home when the newest 8 come home. Can you blame her, she is expected to help raise 14 kids and pay for everything as well.
I love to hear them say "It's god's will that I had a litter" no it's not. God's will was for you not to be able to conceive at all. That was his will, you chose to usurp his will with medical science. If god had intended for humans to have 8 children at one time women would have more boobs. Do you see cats and dogs with two boobs? No because they are expected to have multiple babies and therefore their body is prepared to nurture multiple babies.
I personally hope that what ever board governs this doctor takes a serious look at his actions and reprimands him for his lack of common sense. His punishment could be that he has to take over the grandmothers role as bread winner and diaper changer. I doubt he will be doing this again after a week with 14 children.

Once I moved out of Texas and had a husband things changed because I wanted to spend more time with him. Now that the husband is gone I am finding parts of my old self that I lost. One of those being the part that likes to be out and about with the business world and other contemporaries. It is a great way to get to know people and network.
Last nights events started with cocktails and mingling. Due to medication and severe side effects I was unable to have any alcohol but settled for sparkling water instead. Dinner was great. Since I am very picky eater I am always a bit nervous about the food that will be served at these types of functions. But it was wonderful with a perfectly prepared Filet Mignon, salad, snap peas and some sort of potato and wine bottles on the table. But again due to the medication I had water. But, I do not indulge in alcohol often and certainly not when I am driving.
When dinner was over we attended a concert by Greg Rolie who was one of the founding members of Santana. He is the voice you hear on most of the old Santana songs. Originally Harold and I were not going to attend the concert but I was up for it so we went for a bit. The music was great but the room was small and the sound was bit overwhelming so we left after 3 or 4 songs and headed home. I had to get up and be at work this morning anyway.
All in all it was a great night and lots of fun. My next adventure is trying to get a handle on sports. I know so many people who love to attend the Lobo basketball games and the baseball games in the summer but I never go because I don't know anything about sports and never really tried. But, I promised Harold I would give it a go since he likes to attend the basketball games. Who knows maybe I will become a fan and a season ticket holder. Okay, that is not likely but always a possibility.
