Kwan Yin is often referred to as the female buddha. According to legend she was a princess who turned her back on a life of luxury and money to join a convent and spend her life looking for enlightenment. After having achieved enlightenment and entering Nirvana she heard crying back on Earth and returned to help those suffering achieve enlightenment.
Kwan Yin has many titles in many different countries and cultures. She is known as the Compassionate Goddess and the Female Buddha. She responds to the ordinary people and anyone can call upon her. She is thought to bring good luck and protection into the home.
Thinking about it and this little creature I could not have asked for a better diety to protect her. Kwan has lived a short life here on earth that has been nothing but strife, pain and abuse. She was simply used as a puppy mill for greedy people. But, instead of being angry and violent, little Kwan in loving and compassionate. Just like the diety she is named for.
